• Pilot phase of COMSATS Telehealth project was Pakistan’s first Tele-health project based on live interaction between doctor and patient providing Teleconsultation while the project in Zhob is also the first ever such project in Balochistan province.
  • Telehealth projects benefited a large number of people at both Gujar Khan and Skardu. COMSATS continue to provide Teleconsultations at Skadru. Since the commencement of the Telehealth services in 2005, thousands of consultations have been provided from COMSATS Telehealth Resource centre.
  • The major beneficiaries of Tele-health facility had been females and children with a reasonable level of patient satisfaction, acceptability and comfort towards the mode of service delivery.

  • Telehealth COMSATS provides the only Dermatology consultation service in whole district of Skardu and Zhob.

  • COMSATS Telehealth program has been presented at a number of eHealth and Telehealth related events and conferences at both National and International level including World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) in 2005 in Tunis. The project was also one of the nominees for the Stockholm Challenge Award 2006.

  • COMSATS is also a member of International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (IsfTeH). It also participates keenly in the activities of eHealth Association of Pakistan (eHAP) at national level. Telehealth Coordinator of COMSATS has also been elected as the vice president of this Association recently.
